My son Jake has designed and made a wooden model of kitcar bodywork for his Design and Technology exam coursework.
As part of the evaluation bit he needs to get opinions from experts (you lot).
Any comments you have regarding aesthetic or practical issues would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks in advance
Dave (and Jake)
I can get the image to show!!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
You will get a host of different opinions.
For my 2p worth, the front looks a bit stumpy, so sloping it back a bit to the bottom and fitting an air dam that sticks out.
Back end looks a bit nascar, but by the look of the cabin it will accomodate some big drivers/passengers.
The rear wheels are sticking out beyond the bodywork - it'll never pass its SVA test like that!!
I like it! perhaps slightly chunky, but if it was a bit more sleek and the roof was lower it would be a nice design, especially the rear section.

I did this so I could see it better, as it was looking a bit like a birthday cake
As you can see from the result, your son is far more skilled than mE!

Errm, how old is Jake? I'd like to know before I post any suggestions.....
Very cuboid - reminds me of that ford GT car in the 90s, i forget the name, someone help me out here...?
I wonder if he has any sketches of the deign, might help people, with better responses. Difficult to tell from the 3D-Model without
"details" on the shell..

Looks very wide track and short wheelbase may suit 3 abreast seating a la Matra Baghira . has a look of a shortened early Esprit. A few details would help bring the shape alive lke a plunging windscreen and dramatic swage and cut lines . Dynamicly expect masses of initial grip followed by sudden spins due to short wheelbase and wide track , Thus could be a usefull rally car. think R5 Maxi Turbo , Stratos and 037or RS200
Difficult to comment really without knowing more, but for Design and Technology presumably you have to design it using a certain level of technology
to achieve the object at a reasonable cost.
Questions I would ask are
- is it supposed to be super fast? If so, how slippy is that shape ?
- what material is the bodywork made from ? One piece or several ?
- are there doors? If so what is that bulge in the middle of the door panel ?
- is it front or mid-engined ? if front what is the purpose of the intakes in front of the rear wheels?
- is the slope of the front wings going to make it difficult to fit headlights ?
Not meant to be negative or discouraging
