Ok thinking about Mk2 and what it should look like. I am thinking that a more enclosed body is a good idea. I have spent some time with a diecast
model of a 7 and some plastecine.
This is the full body version
This is the more open version
is the side view, at this point it uses the 7 nose as I was quite pleased with the way it looks a bit like the Mazda RX8 It could have a lower
profile front.
I am thinking of making the body out of ally sheet on a lightweight frame that hangs off the locost chassis. The full body would need doors and a
fully tilting front so there will be a bit of a weight penalty however the aerodynamics should be loads better. What do you all think?

I like the idea - simple but effective.
Personally, I'd forgoe the doors in favour of saving weight and also the fiddliness of getting it all to work well together
Can you see the images? all I am geting is tags!
Caber
I could see the image (just the one?) but now the link's gone dead.
I've alays been tempted to have a crack at designing a full body, but never really known how to do it in terms of a model (I reckon I'd be
able to form something better than I could draw it) - I like the idea of covering a scale se7en model in plastecine, genius!
Just tried to redo links to Picasa but htey are all at the bottom of the post now
I find it easier to work in 3 D than drawing as well!

I've always been a fan of the next 2

Ha ha looks lie a Dutton Pheaton
I like that Scatto T7..... Looks very nice for effectively a bodied Seven.
Trouble is a pretty bodied Seven is going to end up looking like a Fury. Nothing wrong with that to an extent- the Fury's bloody nice. But
isn't it re-inventing the wheel. If you do it badly you get a Dutton
That design you have just done kevin is of the modsports seven called the blackbrick.....it is in the back of ortenburgers book the legend of the lotus seven. some more obscure 7 info
Any pictures of the blackbrick 7 on the web? just tried a google search with no results!

Your model doesn't look unlike the Tiger Storm.

Images are just not working for me today this is supposed to be a McLaren M8 !

Black Brick does have some similarities to the low sided model, High sided version is also similar in some respects to the Tiger however I wanted something cleaner
Similar but cleaner- IMHO

here's your image:
So what do you think of the McLaren version? this seems a bit more original than the other one?
Caber
Oh that is sharp and if the cockpit was moved back could probably sit on the locost chasis. It would leave two hell of a blind spots on either side
with the wing supports. Maybe make them out of clear lexan? Making the wing float.
Dale
Was kind of thinking I wouldn't need the wing with a Pinto in the front The bonnet line will probably have to be more or less in line with the
front wheel arches as per my model, I'll try again to attach picture!
