WING STAY IDEA'S
matt.c - 12/11/07 at 09:50 PM

Been messing around with the front wing stays tonight and i have noticed how brittle and flexable the are!
I have heard about them breaking alot so how can i beef them up or totally redesign them? Cateringvans dont fall off so what sort of stay do they use?

A weld that hasn't failed on mine yet either

I got fed up with my stays (for Cortina uprights) breaking in various places and made up my own out of flat bar. Still on, touch wood!

Made mine from 10mm rod, 3000miles later and no probs.

Ours have survived approx 10K miles and a serious accident involving a concrete lampost (which wrote the first Indy off) and are still going strong. Why try and fix something that isn't broke?

You can have brittle and flexible at the same time, but it is a VERY temporary state of affairs
