F1-2 Evolution
nitram38 - 8/10/07 at 02:46 PM

I have been modding the F1-2 while I wait for a load of cnc chassis parts for the MotaLeira.
The nose has been changed for an F3 one and has not been secured yet. It needs lifting slightly. It has also been reshaped using extra fibreglass.
The plan is to mount a wing under the front of the nose and to roll a scuttle panel between the nose and the driver. This will mean that the front is rounded.
The long slot over the suspension looks odd in the photo, but will be filled with the lighting bars which are ahead of the suspension.

Looking good

Its amazing how much changing the nose alters the look of the car. What shape is the new scuttle going to be? Shaped to match the curve of the nose?

...im thinking that the front numberplate might have a tendacy to fall off

The scuttle is going to follow the line of the nose.
After painting the panels the same orange colour, I will be putting a race number round all on the nose and sticking a vinyl square number plate in the middle.

Cunning idea... Its going to look great when its finished.

Dont know where you find all your time from...building one car, evolving a second and your still making faster progress than me!

I am also planning to fit these F3 front winglets:

Looking really good, as is the new one.

IMHO, the only thing that spoils that car is the look of the seat, but that's just me.

Which car?
If it is the F1-2, I originally used a tillet seat but it made me sit too high.
Now I am just sitting on the chassis, although I could do with some sort of gel seat pad!
