Hi All,
Made a start today and so far, so good.
The first problem is to put a bulge in the top to clear the Dellorto 45's.
Still needs rolling in the other direction to get rid of a few of the cross ways ridges,
but I can only do this after the 90 deg bends are formed. That's the next step.
I plan to form these around my argon bottle.

Its looking good, but put the spliff out or you will get it all wrong.

That's Gaz, my son, with the fag.
It's a bit of a large lump to swing about on your own so he's a big help.

Do you all have an english wheel at home to form ally?
Looks nice to me.
I won't be able to form nice curvy things.
(prob. also not the skills )
I do Theo, but only a home made one.
Still learning how to use it

Excellent work Paul looking forward to seeing the end result. All the best Trev.
Mmmm.
The gas cylinder was too big a radius.
It's surprising how much spring back you get with half hard ally.
Mk 2 jig is wood down the middle of a cardboard carpet tube.
They are nice people at my local carpet warehouse.
Works a treat.

Getting there.
Now for a spot of trimming.
This is when I cut too much off and the air turns blue.

Paul, a great piece of ingenuity and resourcefullness in using the cardboard tube. I would never have thought of that, great stuff.
The bonnet looks like its all over bar the shouting and a great job too.

Haven't they got a B52 at Duxford ?, sorry couldn't resist it . Looking good Paul
yeah ok its not a b52 (yes there's a b52 getting restored at Duxford)
I always think of planes proper names rather than numbers (same with cars, stuggle with volvo models..)
I'll have a go at looking at these wheel pictures, thanks
Hi All,
TrevD came over today for an inspection. Ooerr
He put his expertise to good use and we finished off the bulge.
It's now nearly as big as the other one in the pic.
I am deeply indebted to him.
