good evening all,
i have been off the forum for a while as i have been hard at work in my new job. but not only that i have also been hard at building my car to, (dont
worry boys im not letting the side down)
anyways i am at the stage now where i need to mount my silencer but i am unsure on how to go about it. i have put on a photo so that you can see where
i am going to mount the silencer, how have people mounted theirs, what types of bracket etc and what materials were used for the brackets

Maybe it was Mr loo from on here?
Looks like as a result of your flared side panels your scilencer is quite a way away from your chassis/body so this method may not be appropriate.

sorry no pics but I use a strap around the silencer then a small rubber bobbin with M6 threads sticking out each end, its what we use at work too rubber mount vac pumps, anyone want any ? Can get a pic up tomorrow if you wish.
Here's mine:
Wide ali strap split in half part way - one half to clamp round the silencer, the other half bolted onto a Land Rover engine mounting rubber. The LR
engine mount is bolted onto a piece of angle steel which is bolted to the car from underneath
Rescued attachment silencer strap.JPG
will that pass sva?
The strap is actually the second one (previous one was in two parts riveted together and it broke) but is basically the same as the one I had on for SVA. I think because the strap is so thin, as long as you round off the edges you are OK
MInes the same as humbugs. Alli angle bolted under neath with a silencer band mounted on a bobbin.
Many have gon through like that.
