Tightening Mirrors
DavidM - 22/4/06 at 08:00 PM

I've now got my mirrors fitted, but the drivers side is very loose where the stalk goes into the mirror housing. I Don't know why as they're new mirrors, and the passenger side is fine.

Does anybody know how to tighten it up?

You'll have to remove the glass I suspect. The attaching device (devise) is in there.

To avoid breaking the glass, you could try easing out the flexible cover to see if thre is an adjuster there. I have what look like the same mirrors and at the other end there is an adjuster that works with a hex key, so you might be lucky?

On mine (look same as yours) you pull back the gaitor and there is an adjustor inside there. I mounted mine to the car then rolled the gaitor back. Made adjustments, tightened up and rolled the gaitor back down.

Dont touch the glass end - very easily broken. Take a lot of care when tweaking the mirror aim after tightening up. If you twist the mirror head the glass will crack.
