Hi could anyone help with the attached pic of my aluminium body panels?
The panels are covering the side of the chassis as per the book "locost" however my chassis differs from the book in that they stop short of
the front wishbones, my question is will this edge need to have a 2.5mm radius as I have just cut the panel to fit.
I have the same question with the aluminium floor in that the floor extends all the way to the nose of the chassis and this has been cut to fit.
When does a panel/edge need to have a 2.5mm radius have you any ideas on the best way to overcome this? will a 180 degree bend solve or can something
be purchase to be put on the edge, because I have'nt enough material to form a 180 degree bend!!!
Thanks
Jools

Get some edge trim from Woolies.
www.woolies-trim.co.uk
It's about £1.80/metre. You want the herringbone pvc one with the steel inner.

Jon
as Jon says just stick some rubber edge trim on it
As above,i used the U shaped edging from woolies on my fibreglass panels even though i doubt it was needed in some areas.

Off topic Jools, but I notice your user name includes Mi16 - are you fitting an Mi16 engine?
Cheers
Nick
Chassis look's strange, or is the the angle of the pic?
Pat...
looks like he's modified it to keep the wishbone mounts parallel. Thats what i did on mine, but i ended up adding too much length.
I wondered if it has side pods.
Thanks for all your reply's, to Nick205 my first project was to fit the mi16 engine into the good old peugeot 205 gti.
Iam surprised that the Mi16 engine is not used more in the locost build at 160bhp standard and all aluminium! It certainly pushed my 870kg pug 205
along.
Thanks again I am sure I will be posting more questions as the build goes on.
