hi, going to attempt to make the rear panel tommorrow out of 1.2mm ally sheet
anyone got any hints or tips as i can see myself wasting a few sheets getting it right i intend to fold it round the top and bottom rails and rivet it to the chassis

Thanks Antony Rescued attachment S2400048.JPG

Make a pattern first so you can get it as close to the shape as possible.....then use a ratchet strap or two to hold it in place.....trim a little at a time......and take your time....not easy but really satisfying when it's done and looks nice.

1) Make sure the sheet is in good contact with the tube when beating it over especially round the corners , otherwise it will kink very easily

2) I also trimmed mine so that I did not have to bend it too far round the tubes at the corners ,,that gives you less metal to try and compress into itself, mine only went round probably about 130 degrees at the corners.

I wrapped the top end round and got it as tight as I could then put a screw in each end to hold it in place (later replaced with rivets).

Take a look at page 24 of my website, there are a few pics of mine being fitted.

That looks well smart Antony.

The way the light catches those corner rads it looks as if you'v got them spot on.
