can anyone point me in the direction of good how-to videos or sites to sort out several dents in my ally bonnet? the car lives in an overcrowded tiny garage and from time to time things have fallen off shelves onto the bonnet.

any recommendations?

I've seen various mentions about heat and compressed air, mallets, hammers blocks of wood etc.

thought I might have a go while we're still locked down.

I've taken a pic and managed to get it my photo archive but cant seem to see the link to it to add it in here

I think the reason you are having probs with the photos, is they may not have unique names, try prefixing the names ie 'swanny_thumbnail_Image1.jpg' instead of just 'thumbnail_Image1.jpg'

Turn the bonnet upside down, ensure its on a smooth, flat level surface -the surface had to be near perfect. Mask the areas you don't want to touch. Ensure the garage is well lit from all sides, you don't want Shadows.

Prep for a long evening. I'd get some beer in.
Open the first beer, lift the blue Ice box up to the original height, aim for the non masked area and drop 😁

hint, if doing this don't fill the cooler with the beer before it falls, - two reasons, it would be heavy and difficult to get to the right height, and more importantly, to avoid said beer getting shaken and fizzy
