Has anyone got any pictures of a "7" style car with mesh bonnet vents. I'm looking for ideas...
I'm trying to get the air that gets stuck in the engine bay out as easy as poss to try and help with the air flow at higher speed which seems to
be a major problem with the body design.
has anyone else done work on this, I know the only real solution is a proper enclosed body but I want to stick with the basic shape.
I did this to mine and it has reduced the under bonnet heat by a considerable amount and it also lets air out of the engine bay once it has gone
through the radiator.
Other option is to go with the westi£ nose arrangement and have the air pass in the nose, through the rad and up out the top of the nose thus not
letting as much air into the engine compartment.
Mine were pretty simple to make though and cost nowt but a bit of time.

I imagine you could buy some louvre panels to fit in a similar way to what col has done..
Ned.
Car Builder Solutions have a few nice ones (yellow things - half-way down)

Actually, I quite fancy them myself!

I was thinking of fitting these,

In a similar vein as col.

I have been collecting the mesh grilles out of all the MG ZR's I write off, they are stainless and just the right shape. Series 3 metro's have a nice moulded vent on the bonnet which could also be used
I quite like the way donkervoort does them.

Arse.Never could resize pictures.
If you can find some bonnet vents off a 70's Celica they would be ideal for side vents on a 7. Just a bit heavy IMHO because they're die cast and chrome plated.
Why is there a sawn off telegraph pole sticking up through the bonnet of your car...did you build it in your drive around an existing pole?

I was thinking of making a ali bonnet and having the vents cut as per the Donkervoort pic, found a company to do it but worked out just too much
£££.
the better Robin Hood bonnets look good and cheap but suspect will need some bashing to get it to fit.
Did anyone see an article in one of the kit car mags a few months ago? showed how to make formers for louvres in ally. looked pretty good to me ,

It's the top of a heap of firewood that's being automatically fed to the boiler...
David
Could use that boiler to melt some of the f&*(king snow here. -20 Cdeg here yesterday.
Actually just fitted a couple of weeks ago the newest edition to the garage-- 80,000 btu forced air gas furnace mmmm warm now.
