I've started making my dash, and was wondering what people thought I could make my dash panels from?

Alloy, Plastic, fibreglass?

I look at those compound curves and the first thing that comes to mind is aeroplane wing material, but I can't remember what it's called. It's basically fabric that has been stretched to fit, but then soaked in liquid that makes it solid. Then maybe some fibreglass on the back for reinforcement?

I hadn't thought of doping a fabric. ( bit embarrassing for an aircraft engineer). Any other ideas out there.

What about fixing proper carbon fibre fabric in place then spraying or brushing the resin on?

Thin plastic sheet and a heat gun. Or maybe aluminium. Fabric is a good idea, seen some speaker enclosure (somewhere on the net) made with fabric (Lycra) stretched over the structure and brushed with raisin. Already sva/iva I guess.

I'm liking the C/F idea. The car isn't yet IVA'd, but I do have the correct density padding to go on the lower edges.

You're doing the right thing leaving the tubes exposed.
Like we did...

1-1.5mm ally would do that easily. It's a gentle enough curve that the compound-ness won't be an issue, I don't think.
