Are we talking aluminium or fibreglass?

Dooey99 - 13/10/13 at 04:08 PM

Either really I'd prefer fibre glass, easier to repair but I don't mind

Rather depends what you're building.

Making one in aluminium is not difficult. I'd be happy to talk you through it if it would help. Unfortunately we are a long way apart otherwise we could make it together.

here are a couple of pictures I took when making the Trials car.

Drop me a PM if I can help in any way.

regards

john

More info on scuttle building at: http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1033&view=next

Aries Motorsport may be able to sell uou a grp one, though you'd need to be sure it matched and fitted your chassis and other bits.

John - have you more info on your trials car spec, design and build please.

Thanks
Mike

I made mine as well

Ali bulkhead
Ali bulkhead

Made an mdf buck, couple of end plates spaced out with some 2" x 2" wood, then folded the top sheet over and held with a couple of screws (make it deeper than required so you can screw through on the off cuts) and dressed the edges over.

Cut Ali end plates and rivet together.

Regards Mark
