i think they finish the sides off quite well, but i don't like them as much as they cost (nearly £85 each side)

i'm really after a cheaper alternative if there's one available, is there a standard fibreglass angle channel used in roofing for example? need to check the size needed, but i think its about 4-5" x 4-5"

or how about the fleece grp type thing? stretching fleece over some sort of frame and covering with resin?

if i could buy something already made for like £10-15 per side, i'd be happy, even if a straight 90 degree right angle thing doesn't quite have the same shape

any good ideas?

Look on ebay for a chav special for a 200sx or something, and adapt it. Personally though, i like it without them.

Would ceiling coving give an appropriate curve?

Obviously you couldn't use it straight on the car, but as a mould for some GRP it might work?

yeah I agree I think it finished it off just nice.
you could easily make your own for that kind of money.
and you'd have the mould to make future ones if you damage those.

As suggested already, by something off the shelf and cut and shut it to fit.

Ive always like the E36 M3 sideskirts, or the winged ones from the a mk6 escort Rs2000.

the problems with using ones from BMWs, or nissans is they don't go under the car far enough. i've got an E36 with M3 skirts on it.

you'll see from this photo, that the skirt actually needs to form part of the floor (it shouldn't, but it does lol racing weight saving etc, cut everything away that you can) i like it without, but i want to fill the holes up between the floor and the side panel with them, so i could fill just the gaps with something, but i'd rather do it with skirts

having just gone out for a very rough measuring, they'd actually need to be about 6-7"high, and go under the car by the same amount at least. i can't think of any car that would have something like that fitted already. they tend to just be stuck on the sides.

ceiling coving would be a good start for a mould. or maybe some cheap strips of MDF or something?
any thoughts on the fleece and GRP resin technique? i would like to put some sort of curve in the side if easily done.
i wonder if theres any sort of fibreglass flat roofing edging that could work stright off?


wombat, the reason it kicks out a bit at the back is just because i've not put the 2 bolts in the bottom that hold it straight
