Hi All

I'v given up trying to buy a +4 nosecone so when my son, Gaz, said we'll have a go at making one, I didn't need asking twice.
As you can see it's just a rough mock up so far, (the other side is even rougher).
We'll do a bit more over the weekend.

We would love to know your opinions of the general shape, from "pleasing to the eye" to "utter crap". Don't hold back now.

If you have any trouble with spelling, most words will be on the walls of your local public loos.

i like the flat top of the nose, and the unusual point at the front, but i dislike the suddenness of the side things. They will look better IMHO if they get smoothed in a bit. But certainly looking good overall.

The rear leading edge looks a little flat, it may look concave when painted. I love the front end, I think it yearns for a 50's ferrari sharknose central vertical bar (make it stronger too!)

Pointy nose bit looks quite cool. what are you opinions on plagiarism?

Agreed with everything Joel and Mark said, esp. making the side bumps unobtrusive and rounding the top (I think Sevens look better with rounded bonnets anyway).

Thanks for the comments on the nose, very helpfull. I think i will take your advice and blend the edges of the side bump, the reason for the bump is to cover the top wishbone bolt and the corner of the chassis (see pic) thinking of using the corner of the chassis as a mounting point for the headlight. (crome 2cv rectangular ones)

Chris I would be interested to know what you think it looks like, Dad thinks early BMW, and I myself got the idea from a 1960's indy 500 car though i cant remember what it was called, It sounds a bit girly but i think it was blue.

Errr, prolly pretty sad, but retro 50's/60's comic book batmobile. Definately like it though.

That's very nice. keep the mould, if it comes out nice I might commission you / ask to hire it..

mould?! i didnt realise you could make compliant noses from cheese...
