Windscreen Shape
rallyingden - 30/3/11 at 03:18 PM

I have been looking at fitting the windscreen I have had for a while and at first I thought it may be wrong shape for scuttle but not sure now. It is flat for a fair length along the bottom then curves down about 25 to 30mm.

Has anyone got a picture of their screen before fitting and after if possible,

Thanks
RD

Where did you buy the scuttle from?

Some are designed to take the Caterham windscreen. My Stuart Taylor (now Aries????) scuttle for instance - check out my photo archive.

The Caterham screen is flat'ish along the bottom etc....

Here is what I have .........

With screen sat on top

Gap if sat on top
Gap if sat on top

Or sat at bottom

Gap if sat on bottom
Gap if sat on bottom

Full width

sat on top of curved scuttle
sat on top of curved scuttle

Do you think it would look OK with an infill piece of rubber trim ? There is a groove under the bottom rail of the frame to take a "T" or "P" shaped lip

it looks a little like an MK scuttle, but from the picture of the car it would appear that your scuttle is not deep enough for an MK. An MK locost prehaps?

sorry not to have been much help.

Ditch

PS i have an mk and my screen has a rubber P seal about 50mm long that masks the car to screen join and i think it would work well on your car

Quite a few pics in my archive under windscreen & bodywork - your screen is flatter than mine on the bottom, though. I got my screen from Kit Spares direct ( GBS ) aka robin hood - they will be able to supply you with the 'T' section rubber you need, but you might need to ring them.

Link.

Then theres always places like woolies...woolies trim

oops - just seen your other thread.. Doh!
