Has anyone fitted these to a type seven car at all? If so what is the best way to do it? Any pics would be very useful indeed, do i fit the strike
post first etc?
Cheers
I have four on my bonnet, easy to fit really.
I can get you some pics later today, but a search will find some results for you i think.
I have the flush fit ones, and they are sikaflexed to the underside, so nor fixings showing, they look really neat and are very secure too.
There is lots of adjustment in the pins, so they can be fettled afterwards.
have you had a look on there website: linky
I looked on the website, but they don't really show how you fit them on a side fitting, I understand how to fit them top side, but not sure what
is the best approach for side mount fitting into the bonnet.
Any pictures of this would be greatly appreciated and an idea of what I do first.
Cheers
Fitted them to side of mine the pins need a bit of fiddling and I drilled the holes slightly wrong on mine but they still work.
Will try and dig out some photos later
I bought some for mine but never fitted them.
Didn't want to drill holes that big through the chassis rails.

^^ you could fit them without drilling the chassis....
first thing that comes to mind is welding a nut onto the top of the rail (as long a one as you can find or make something up in the lathe...) - then
cut the pin down so that its short enough not to have to go through the rail (bit of trial and error) - that way its still adjustable and you could
fit a locknut to stop it working loose
just a thought, I'm still tring to think of a way without welding......

i will be fitting mine in the coming weeks, the instructions included are fairly comprehensive
whats the cheapest place to get them?
(or what i really mean, is there anywhere cheaper than Rally Design?)
i have a set im about to fit has anyone used them to pass the iva wear they ok
no reason why they shouldnt, the mechanism is sound and very secure.
also the recessed type don't put you at risk from dodgy projections unlike normal latches.
Have a gander at the Fury in the lower pics on this post (there's at least one at the bottom that are with the catches left open...)

Passed SVA first time with them fitted and mine were the ones with the flange on the outside not the flush ones

Not wanting to sound like a complete bafoon, but what is the first thing to do? Do I mmount the strike post first and guess the centre of the eyelet? Or do I cut the hole for the catch and then find the centre from there.?
Any step by step pictures would be great, I must be being think here, I am sure I am not thinking hard enough.
cheers
I fitted my catches first then the catch pin using the template as a guide then fettled the angle slightly

Can you get them so all 4 locks are the same key ???
I was hoping so, but it turns out that my 2 x sets have different keys, you get 4 keys per pair. The llok the part though.
