hi all,
Got my carbon heatshield all fitted now, what a pain to get it to fit the way i wanted it..lol.
I am very happy with the results though, its a Echinda heatshield and it does look the nuts.
what do you think??
heatshield
heatshield1
heatshield3
looks nice
wonder what temp it can take?
your shoes look a bit girly btw

Joe, i'm glad that you like it!
I use a specially formulated resin to make this part, it can withstand temps up to 150*C. As an extra barrier against heat it comes with some layers
of fire blanket on the internal surface, so it should be heatproof like a hell!
I've been thinking about getting one of those.
How did you fit it?

can they be fitted in direct contact with the silencer body?
Yes, it could be fitted in direct contact with the silencer body but the fire blanket should give some clearance between them. It would be quite a bad idea to fit it in contact without a heatproof media between them.
i requested mine be built with a 15mm gap all the way round between the silencer and the carbon.
Fitment was easy enough just a bit fiddly. Once you have marked out where the fixings will be its fine, i have just welded some nuts to the silencer
and with the fireblanket and washer sandwiched its all tightened up together.
Its had some long runs already, gets warm but works a treat, very happy with it and no signs of it not taking the heat.
cheers for the comments
Joe,
