Anyone got N96?

Phone is great but im finding the guide a bit lacking.

Im struggling to get the BBC iplayer to work. It keeps saying i have to be connected to a wi-fi. I dont understand why.

Also when i try to connect to our WLAN i have to enter the WEP key each time. Driving me mad (unless i havent entered it correctly yet - i cant remember what it is so using the serial number on the sticker of the router).

Might have some more questions later

Does the wifi work at all?

I've seen some reports of the following problems on recent S60 phones.

1. Some only work with channels 1-11 (if you're router is on 12 or 13 it won't work)
2. The WEP key entry screen is case sensitive (urgh)
3. If there are WEP/WAP auto modes on both sides it doesn't work, you need to switch one of them to WEP only.
4. Use the connection manager to scan for access points and select the right one as an access point rather than trying to type it in.
5. Turn off power saving modes on the router if it has them.

im now totally disillusioned with new high tech nokias. They are invariably too fragile and prone to crashing.

Mine seems to work on the internet when connected through 3 OK, but can i hell get it to connect to a WLAN. It also seems that the iplayer software loaded doesnt work well (not amajor issue but i wanted to see how it works).

I did manage to get the Mac#1 open day blat onto my phone earlier which was quite easy.

I cant help thinking users of new out phones are being asked to pay a small fortune for what is not much more than a beta trial.

Its a good job we dont have a real fire...........
