I wouldn't want to imagine it... poor sod! Must have been terrible!
Just wonder if they anesthetized him whenever they did any examinations...

I had a twenty minutes of that when the anaesthetic wore off before the paralysis drug. Wide awake while they put a bloody great needle into my neck.
I was scared sh1tless. It hurt like a bitch. Couldn't even move my eyeballs.
I can't even begin to imagine the horror of what he went through.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!
