The flying squirral type suit was invented by a French guy years ago. He dropped from a ballon and then glided from the UK, across the channel,
landing in France.
Still, an awesome video though. 
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

It all goes a bit odd at end as he's coming in to land, but apart from that it's looks like it's just footage from the different
cameras edited together.

Christ! I better not let my girlfriend see that... she'll be straight onto the net to order a suit!!!
I remember a guy who had one of those suits but had strapped a couple of small rocket engines to himself to extend the flight time!!!
I have to admit to being a little disappointed about him using a parachute! Coulda just rolled with it! 
Or, go a little further and get to the sea... nice soft landing!

little holes cause the wing to inflate to a proper aerofoil shape, and apparently you can get 10m along for every 1m you drop.

he's a pretty famous base jumper - watched a programme about him. HE lives and breathes it - balls of an elephant!
That is SO close.
