Any bakers on the list?

If so, why can't you buy crusty bread anymore?

My guess that the EEC has banned some ingredient or other

The excuse will be something like "the customer doesn't want crusty bread any more".

Get a bread maker - we bought a Panasonic one recently and you can make bread whichever way you like - crusty, soft crust, whatever

You can get bread that's not soft, but not really crusty like it used to be upto a couple of years ago

We don't buy bread any more, make it ourselves not with a bread maker and when it comes out of the oven we put a tea towel over it while it cools to keep it soft, otherwise it will be crusty.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

The EU can't have banned crusty bread and not banned the two settings on a toaster that burns or slightly warms your bread
