How fast !!!!!

I just read this on BBC news. My mate got nicked on there a couple of years ago but he was only doing 96mph and got a 3 week ban and £360 fine.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Was he doing 96 on a 50 road though?

Is a good get off though, and at least he's took it like a man. Mind you how did they manage to clock him at 50mph faster than the car's capable of?

Given the obvious inaccuracies in the prosecutions case I'm surprised he didn't walk away scot free!!

Yes he was, he was nearer Buxton than Derby and pleaded guilty by letter but they made him appear in court in Buxton.

Two point spring to mind:

1) Very convienient that the Lotus was sold shortly after the offence. Engine conversions are very popular...

2) Bikes have apparently been clocked at 200mph on that road. I know modern superbikes can reach these kind of speeds given a long enough and straight enough road, but I have severe doubts it could be achieved on the road in question.
