From the land of chav carbon bonnet lookalikes, crappy bodykits and wierd little blue lights everywhere. A gold roof! Rubbish!

David Jenkins - 28/8/08 at 11:57 AM

Agreed - but at around $20,000 a go, probably beyond your average chav!

Surely this is not what it finally looks like?! That looks absolutely dreadful

Reminds me of an old stone floor, yuck! Rescued attachment roof.jpg

Jesus H Christ on a bicycle. Money definitely can't buy you taste

For your twenty grand does it also come with a bouncer to stop people writing 'I am a prize c*nt' over the roof any time you park it up?

crap

novacaine - 30/8/08 at 12:31 PM

i didnt think gold leaf was that expensive

a truly crap way of modifying you car

Simon - 1/9/08 at 09:01 PM

Watching "How it's Made" or similar a while back they did US fire engines which had gold leaf.

They swept the floors and got £10,000 for a dozen or so bags full of sweepings so I guess it has value, but not more than about £200 for a roof.

We'll be having someone do some leafing on a piece soon so I should be able to get an idea on cost

Might do my helmet with it

I'm off to buy shares in plasticote, if this catches on with the chavs the sales of their gold paint will go through the roof!

(pun intended)

Incidently I have tried many things to improve my car but since I removed the rear view mirror I have not looked back.

Cheers

Chris

locoster way is to glue on some bacofoil and say it is platinum.

Confused but excited. - 3/9/08 at 10:31 PM

In a country where 1300 old people died in one winter, because they couldn't afford to heat their homes, there are pricks that will waste £20,000 to look a twat!
Oh death, where is they sting?
Apologies for the use of expletives, but sometimes you just can't be polite.
