ladder buying advice
Slater - 23/7/08 at 09:19 AM

I need to buy a ladder for domestic use, triple extension at least 7.4m extended.

Any tips on where to get one? Any ones to avoid?

Best so for on the net is £130 inc VAT and free delivery.

I'd spend the extra fiver and go for the heavy duty trade one. Domestic ladders are rated surprisingly lightly, a reasonably sized adult carrying a few kilos of kit can be right at the limit. I wouldn't want a wobbly ladder, especially at that height.

the domestic one is a fith the price of the industrial one! must be like tin foil

Old seat belts rap round and use the clips

I keep my aluminium ladder outside fastened to the wall, it's not going to rust. I've had it 20 years and it's still perfectly usable but a bit paint splattered.
