Airworthy Santa

It is a little known fact that each year Santa has to obtain a certificate of airworthiness from the CAA.

This year they sent a particularly officious inspector.

First of all he inspected all the reindeer, weighed them to ensure they were not too heavy, checked all hooves for correct shoeing, made certain that red noses were of the correct intensity. He then moved on to Santa and made an official notation of excess weight and made particular check of the fastenings on his cloak and boots.

After much pulling prodding and testing, the time came for the all important flight test and the team were hitched, all sleigh controls were inspected and all pre flight checks completed. Santa and the inspector climbed on board and Rudolph and the rest of the team pulled the sleigh to the take off area. At this point the inspector pulled out a large gun. Santa was somewhat concerned and asked what the gun was for. “ I shoudn’t tell you this before the test” said the examiner “but we are going to have an engine failure on take off “
