Quick question before I blow up my new PC
Is this the power supply connection for this USB card?
I bought it off ebay but it came with no instructions, the little connector that runs off the molex loom fits, but would like a bit of reasurance
before I flick the switch
Thanks in advance
Mark

I would expect the power to come from the edge connector. That may be an extra connection to say USB ports on your case or a front bay.

I dont think you need to connect anything to it. You get the power for the board through the connectors along the edge

If it's a combo USB2 and firewire card the connector is if you want bus power for the Firewire ports.
It's always recommended to use seperate external power supplies for firewire devices anyway.

Looks like the option to power it with teh old floppy drive power connector type thing. USB can probably draw more than can be supplied off PCI slot
alone

yes, you will be safe to connect floppy sized power connector to that, as said above , extra power preferred - just like us !!

Looks very much like the one I just bought on Ebay.
Works very well with Firewire. Its supposed to be USB2.0 but XP doesn't recognise it as such on all the ports, only on 2 of the 4
(strange!!!)...
