Works for me. Just click down on the instrument drag it on and release the button to drop it.
Just designed a splendid dash with two backup steering wheels

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

that tool may be ok to while away a few minutes at work but don't get complacent that all will be fine in the real world.
I trial fitted my dash and cut out of cardboard the instrument faces. Using insulating tape, I stuck them onto the dash and with steering wheel in
place, moved them until they were in sight or not.
Also have the indicator stalks in place as they could obscure instruments.
As with most dashboards, mine was a compromise - see post about my dashboardwhcih explains the rationale for the layout.
Mine is post SVA so you would need to think more about sharp edges and switch placement.
