word 2007 mailmerge date format problem

one of you will know

I'm merging a document from a access database. The date field is in english in the database ie dd/mm/yyyy but when merged in word it comes out as mm/dd/yyyy even when all settings are in english (UK). WTF??????

not played with 2007 but in 2003 you need to mail merge with DDE connection ( when you select you list to merge from )

Edit to add you need to tick the show all ps caut me out with a 10,000 member mailing a few years ago as it did this with Punters DOB
