REALLY, REALLY, REALLY.. RIPPED OFF AND P***ED OFF!!!
Just got my mobile phone bill and 3 calls of just over 33 mins cost me £26 +vat. One call alone was £19.00. Now I thought it was a mobile number
starting 0707.. sounds like a mobile to me. Complained to 3 network and they said its a personal numbering service but couldn't tell me whos it
was and the number no longer works. So I've dialled a mobile (so I thought) been charged almost £1 per min and worst of all nobody could tell me
who took my money via this number. Just been browsing Pistonheads and guess what???? its THEM!
It seems that the contact details includes what seems to be their mobile number with a crappy little logo that says phone safe and NOTHING about
charges unless you click on it and even then it gives you this
"How much will it cost to use PhoneSafe?
There is no charge for PistonHeads sellers who want to use PhoneSafe. Buyers who contact a seller through PhoneSafe will be charged only a small
amount more than direct calls. The charges are listed below:
* Day: 37.5p
* Evening: 25.0p
* Weekend: 12.5p
All prices are pence per minute fom a BT Landline and calls from a mobile or other operator may vary.
PhoneSafe is a completely optional service for sellers. "
So it seems too right they VARY by 250% of what is qouted IF you knew that 1) you should know its not a mobile and 2) if you knew to click the logo
that doesnt mention charges!!!!!
Any advice as I am MAD!!!!! I feel its not evedent that your NOT phoning a mobile phone or you will get charged extra. My mobile package is £15 per
month including 500 mins 30+ of which I thought I was using through Pistonheads.
I really feel that Ive been conned by them!!!

all the free adds papers use the same things - where do you think they make the money.....
I get more p***ed off with 0800 and 0845 numbers - they are free/cheaper from a land line but cost 15p / 20p per min from the mobile
and no network will offer anying that will even just take them off your included minuites

Just launched a complaint with Ofcom about not clearly disclosing thats its NOT their mobile number and that it is a PREMIUM rate call.
Now on the phone to Consumer Direct as I want my money back.

To be fair it's probably not the fault of Pistonheads more Ofcom for letting 07 numbers be premium rate where most people will (like you) think
they are mobile numbers.
It is an annoying re the 0800 numbers on mobiles but I use saynoto0870...
... or a phonebox

Ofcom doesn't design the Pistonheads website!
Pistonheads decide what information they put on there.. its not difficult look even I can do it.
PLEASE NOTE! This phonesafe number is NOT the personal mobile
for this person. Additional charges will apply. Click the logo for details.
PRETTY EASY hey but Pistonheads will likely skim money off from Phonesafe.. why offer it if not.

Well yes, they could make more of it (ie warn people). But I still think that Ofcom could have guessed (when the whole "personal
numbering" thing came up) that an 07- prefix would make most people think "mobile" and would create confusion.

07 numbers are mobile numbers, call forwarding is also "mobile".
So to ofcom it is fair!
Been caught out with 07 numbers as well.
Once worked in a shop ho warned us not to send fax to numbers to a certain number prefix that started 01 .... (looked like a normal phone number).
They lost a lot of money to that scam!.
That is even more shocking!.

We did this with that 0800 reverse thing, the early adverts didn't say it would cost about a fiver a call!
