Be careful what you copy over if you do reformat.

Only copy files you know are safe.

MSN hacks usually work if you click on a link someone sends you like in graemes pic above it then harvests all your details and starts sending out the links from your msn.

Burn what you need to keep onto DVD's or transfer it to another PC via a LAN cable (make sure the PC you are transferring to has up to date anti virus running too).

Then just do a complete reformat and install of windows.

While you are at it partition the 500gb drive into at least 2 partitions. 1 of 50GB the rest as 450GB. Install windows and all your apps on the 50GB bit and keep all your files on the 450GB bit. This way is you get a mundane virus you just wipe and reinstall windows on your 50GB partition. It doesnt protect you against HDD failure, but it makes virus recovery easy.

The problem now is once the virus has got your details for MSN its going to keep track of whenever you change your password, so that will make no difference.

My suggestion is that you either try signing into web msn and change your password through that or through windows messenger. Or you just set yourself a new account up and abandon the old one.

Abandon the old old, chances are you've been deleted and blocked by most of your friends anyway!
