Its the first thing to appear when starting windoze, it started when I installed the ATI catalyst drives to enable twin display.

I have tried reinstalling them and even trying alternative ones but to no avail

ok, .net is a programming support system. Microsoft provide a load of routines that developers use. Its set up a bit like a tree structure or the enterance to an housing estate - bits lead to other bits.

The message is basically saying "the bit of the system that says where we can find .net is wrong, we've looked there and we can't find the start of the housing estate. Correct it before we continue".

Best solution i'd guess is to try and repair the installation via the add / remove software. if that doesn't work, download .net from the microsoft web site, remove it from your computer via add/remove and install it fresh.

Have you tried performing a system restore by rolling back?

The problem is that the ATI Catalyst control panel has been written using the .NET framework, and you do not have this installed on your machine.

Download and install the version 1.1 .NET framework from Microsoft
