compressor help
hi folks i need a new pulley for my compressor i know machine mart sell them
but there listed as pcd measurements
mine measures 225mm diameter
what pcd do i need

PCD relates to the distance between the mounting bolts for the pully wheel.

yea i understand pcd in that respect but for the pulley it fits onto a shaft
so i cant see how pcd is relevent
and theres no way to work a diameter out

You need to check the shaft diameter and match the bore size to it. As for the P.C.D. suspect that may be the diameter possibly measured from the
bottom of the vee?

The pulleys look like they are from the motor. At the size you are talking about then i guess you are after one for the air pump??
Is it a Clarke compressor then?? If so then possibly best to ring Clarke spares for a part number or ask Machine Mart themselves giving them the model
number of your compressor

PCD when referring to a belt drive is the mean grip diameter.
There are a million ways to describe it but it is basically the bit of the pulley that has the same SURFACE SPEED as the belt thats touching it. its
usually something like 2/3 of the groove depth in the pulley.
For your compressor, just choose the pcd that is a bit less than your outer diameter. (prob about 10mm less at a guess)
