New tuning tools arrived today
Got a suprise through the post today (wasnt expecting them until next week!)
My knock analysing gear has arrived
I found someone selling a brand new Phormula KS3 unit and a Knock Analyser Pro and got a good deal.
Basically the KS3 will be a permanent fixture in the car and allow me to monitor knock once the engine has been set up. Its a really small unit, about
80mm long.
The KA Pro allows you to listen to the engine and actually hear the knock for yourself. This device seems widely used in an awful lot of good rolling
roads for tuning.
The good thing about them is that they can be linked together to check the KS3 has been configured correctly and is indeed recording knock when there
really is some, rather than thinking there is some, or that it is definately picking it up when its there and not ignoring it.
They should be good bits of kit - I have heard lots of good things from pro tuners and home users. They are based on proper knock processors so are a
bit more advanced than things like the knocksense board for the MS.
