Has anyone got a 50mm former for a TUBE bender please?
Hi I am looking to borrow/hire a 50mm diameter TUBE former (just the former not the whole bender) for bending tube. See attached photo. I have
currently got a 50mm Pipe bending former (50mm ID, 60mm OD) which is no good for 50mm tube.
Otherwise I will have to try and pack the current one I have got with stiff rubber or something to reduce it from 60mm to 50mm but it might not be
stiff enough to stop the sidewalls collapsing.
I know these hydraulic pipe benders are not ideal but I am going to try the full 'fill with water and then sand procedure'
Thanks
Chris

Back in the day fabricators used to pack the pipe with DRY sand to stop the walls collapsing.
I highlight dry as I have heard stories of people that have used wet sand and then heated the pipe and it has exploded scaling hot sand in their
face!!

What about sleeving it with some thin wall tube and after the bend cut it off, just a thought, probably crap I know but worth a mention !!
