Hi,
I'm planning to bend some 22mm wide window channel, would it be possible to use Rons windscreen frame method or is it harder than it looks ?
I made a bollox of mine so cut slots, not much help here I,m afraid.
how hard is the ali?
i think it should be possible we used some that was norrower than that but was fine once annealed

I brought a Caterham Frame and screen from ebay and found it to be about 2 inches two wide, so set about bending the frame around former to bring in
sides to suit my scuttle.
As dad's an Engineer, he advised how to do it.
Just remember ali will spring back so small adjustments required.
Mine was Copy of orignal top arc of frame, with start of corner marked out and then complete semi circle drawn out so can follow round.
Finished item attached. (Glass to follow when i find someone to make Heated one)

keith tanner has a pretty good "how to" (& how not to..) section on this in his "seven" website

Thanks for the replies, I've been told it might be easier to cut slots, bend it then have slots welded then polish it all, looked at Keiths site
and decided that bending as it is seems like too much hard work for 4 bends

I need a screen for the Trials Car. Using 3mm wall thickness aluminium channel, the screen frame was formed using a specially adapted tube bender with
stainless steel wheel and aluminium former.
