Iwant to do a 1" step dge on the side ally on my car but want to overlap by 1". I have seen the Clarke one but has o size. Anyone know where
i can get one?
Or is there a 'locost' way of doing it?

It's possible (with a regular sized Locost) to do it all with an 8' sheet of ali if you want to avoid the join line.

how important is the 1 " ?
I have the clarke joggler but not having it with me I cannot give exact measuemet but the overlap is around 15 - 20 mm.
The step is not that big, maybe 1 mm.

I wanted to do it in 2 sheets as i like the run of rivets down the side....however.... on returning home i found that i made a cock up with the
measurements and am now going to have to have 3 pieces down each side. Not a problem really but need to overlap the sheets so they look good.
Gotta be 1".
Note to self: Bloody well measure properly in future you dumb ass!

The other option is to use a thin strip of ali riveted to both panels, twice as many rivets but the panels will be flush.

it would look more 1940's / 50's fighter then - which is not a bad look at all.
(makes note to consider this when he finally gets round to the body work).
I made my own simple joggler... worked really well!
Basically i got 2 lengths of 25mm box section and 2 lengths if 10mm wide strip. welded the strip to the box section and then made 4 'uprights out
of 3" pieces of box section welded to my steel workbench. make as wide as you like. feed in the sheet and thump with a hammer....
