this would make a whole lot of sense if i got this wrong...
its the clarke 151te welder, in order of lowest to highest does it go
1) low 1, low 2, low 3, high 1, high 2, high 3?
or
2) low 1, high 1, low 2, high 2, low 3, high 3?
i always assumed number 2, but i have doubts
Mine is
Min 1 then min 2 then min3
Max 1 max 2 max 3
AS in the instructions page 25 -pdf download

Paul
It seems I have been using mine incorrectly for sometime ie min 1 max 1 etc.
But and more worrying is that one of us (Paul) has been reading the manual as opposed to throwing it out with the rest of the packaging.
The manual is wrong apparently

Yet more proof that reading manuals is the wrong thing to do
I've had this for ages - the problem appears to be some manuals have different answers to others.
I'm under the impression its back to front. The switch on the right is the 'main' switch and the switch on the left adjusts the power
of the main switch.
eg,
low 1
high 1
low 2
high 2
low 3
high 3

I agree with "MikeR" but if in doubt test on a piece of scap for penetration. I've been using a "Clarke 151 TE" for years this way and have not had any problems with it.
Teaches me never to look at the instructions again.............
