as i had an empty garage last weekend i decided to convert a couple of old washing machines and some bits and peices into a blast cabinet, the only
cost was a cheap blast gun from ebay for £15, it works a treat!. some pics in my archive

Thats amazing
blast cabinet
thanks for putting ip the photo
probably best not to ask why you had elbow length rubber gloves lying around the house I guess!!
or did they come with the gun?
What are you using for shot blast? bought a gun the other week and need some shot blast to clean up a bike im building.
doesn't everyone have a pair of large rubber gloves rubber gloves around the house? actually i'm a builder so use them for clearing
drains etc,
after talking to a mate who does blasting for a living, i got some crushed glass from him for the blasting, he reckoned it was more abrasive than
glass bead but better and cleaner than aluminium oxide type stuff, i've had a go on a brake caliper and it worked well
Damn... Mine cost me £50 the metal cost more than the Gun.
The Washing machine idea is brill... Why didnt I think of it
I also got an old hoover with Micro filters froma mate for nowt. I use that to drag out the air from the cabinet, and a couple of sponge filters as
well as the hoover ones. Thats stops a lot of leaks.
I also wear a decent dust mask, as an added precaution. You DONT wand that sort of dust in your lungs.
nice and cheap, i still need to make one one day.
i would be tempted to change the light through
stuart
crushed glass is, if you'll pardon the pun, cracking stuff.
I had never used it till my mobile blasting man introduced me to it.
Its great stuff. Its very safe in that the dust is only irritant, not very dangerous like sand dust etc, (apparently due to the glass being
amorphous)
Its also cheap, and cuts surfaces really well.
deffo a thumbs up
for smooth ally castings glass bead is better but for most jobs the crushed glass is great
