was going to say, a true welding god would have stopped when it sounded different and didn't look right through the welding mask

The welder seemed a bit spluttery but he kept going regardless…

to be honest, I did notice the difference in noise but foolishly carried on regardless. .

did not occur that the gas would run out so soon!!!

now need to grind that out and redo after a visit of halford.

Halfords???

Get ready to spend s ahit load of money. Youll use about two or three bottles of CO2 on that.

blakep82 - 11/5/09 at 11:34 AM

halfords prices have gone up a lot £16 for a small disposable co2 bottle now... if you can wait for delivery, or get to machine mart, get one there

I use a big bottle from BOC, those CO2 ones from Halfords are tiny

Same her after i realised my welder wasnt leaking gas it was that the bottles were so s**t.
One of halfrauds bottles used to last about 30 mins tops, £50 per yaer contract with BOC and each bottle lasts about a year

i never had a problem with the disposable gas. had my welder for about 3 years, only had 1 run out. i've welded loads with it. i think everyone turns the gas up too high

I'm sure people must have the gas wound up too far. One of the small, high capacity bottles did most of my chassis.
