The Wife and I are off a on a road trip soon. Although I have 100% faith in my tin top, I would like a compact tool kit just in case (and not always
to fix the car)
I am after the sort of this which comes in its own moulded case etc.
Any recommendation?
Cheers,
B
Halfords have a sale on at the moment. Try their website.
I allways find those types have either rubbish quality tools or lots you don't want.
You could buy a tool wallet and fill it with the tools you want to take and there cheap.
MACRO have a nice one at about 30 Quid with everything from Pipe pliers to sockets. 85 piece iirc
Also have a good Fair(something) socket set at 95 Pieces
I looked around and all I could find were low quality but exactly the correct floor of the passenger footwell size. In the end I just reasoned that it
should never be used and therefore I could accept the quality issues.
I use the reverse logic that when it's in the car it'll not break down, when I forget it it will. This has so far been proven correct - the
throttle cable snapped when I forgot to take it a couple of years ago!
have a look at the car - make sure you have enough kit do the obvious things - change spark plugs, change a hose, swap a throttle cable etc or
anything else which you might know about your particular car which can go wrong.
Take out some breakdown cover - AA or RAC or the like
saw the halfords one yesterday, £20 reduced for about £40 i think? looked like a kit.
but as said, for £10 or so more, RAC or AA...
Maplin have a nice socket set --- the sockets are stowed inside the handle of the socket wrench
