Stretch CV joint cone
Does anyone have they would be prepared to lend me to do one boot?
Beer waiting.
Alternatively, has anyone managed to do one of these without the special cone thing?

are they the same things they give you for putting the bellows on steering racks? i've never been able to understand how they work...

Why don't you just knock the joint off the drive shaft and put the boot on?

ive got one of them,they are pretty rubbish and only of use putting pug boots on where you cant take the cv off...oh and the boots you have to use are
pretty rubbish as well

Only use the genuine QH stretch boots --- no bother once you learn the knack I use olive oil as the lubricant.

work well for me also but put the new boot in boiling water before you put it on and its easy!

yep i done 3 off them no cone turned boot inside out and brute force there stronger than you think,would take a lot to tear them

I recon you wouldn't go far wrong cutting the big end off a 1.5 liter bottle of tonic water (usually that sort of shape) and using that.

I've ordered the boot off eBay. Unless I find a cone I'll post how I get on with something home made or brute force.

You may find it comes with the boot, mine did. That said, I can't remember actually using it.

i just cut a bit of 3 or 4 inch pipe and twisted in round and gaffer tape, with some oil.

seen one of the old plastic lucazde bottle being used succesfully in the past..
Most motor factors should be able to get them for you..
