Got a 3.62 LSD in the garage you're welcome to borrow (or make me a reasonable offer to buy) to get you out of a squeeze....drive shaft nuts
appear to have seized in position, though....
It's not in great cosmetic condition (was outside for quite a while but in garage now) but seems OK..no backlash or anything

I've got a 3.62 LSD you can borrow.
It's bolt on shafts like the pic above but slightly cleaner
Not selling as such, it's a spare just in case, but beings as your a local yokel, you can borrow it if you want.

Cheers - Your both absolute stars.
ReMan - I think you might have just saved my holiday!
I finally got out in the car - and the Diff whine got worse as I went along.
Had a look and you can wiggle around where the prop joins the diff.
(Sorry for non technical description)
I'd noticed before that it was a real struggled to push car forward into the garage, thought it was just a sticky brake or not in N ??- but then
discovered it was free to roll backwards.
If you jiggle it all around then she spins freely forwards for a bit.
I didn't build the car so not got the details of the diff, all I know is when programming the digidash, it was just over 3 rotations, so assuming
a 3.14 sierra diesel (going off Chris Gamlins ratios xls sheet)
SO panic is setting in (Yet again!) - Was s'posed to be going surfing next weekend on a stag do, and then leaving for LeMans a week on Weds.
I've been told (on good authority) that we can get it stripped and a replacement fitted easily enough - and go for a 4x4 sierra upgrading to LSD
- and that'll fit.
Im just happy to go with whats available, the sooner the better.
[Colin] are you in tomorrow (Sunday)? - hope that doesn't sound too desperate?
[Steve] May I get back to you either before or after LeMans depending on situation!
I understand that this is what I need to check (lobro cv joint)
cv joint

Just to avoid tears later and cover all bases make sure its a 7" you need
Cheers
G
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

No problems ; it's been sat around for 18 months; don't think it's going anywhere fast...
Out of interest, where are you staying at Le Mans?

ReMans diff in,
Thanks to all, especially Colin - Lending parts is one thing - a complete diff is another level
Just need some oil, put final covers and seats back in, re-program dash, make luggage rack then tootle down to France, and source a perm diff on our
return.
Off to soak in a baf - to get rid of this diff oil smell!
Cheers
James.

As mentioned above - I will still be needing a replacement diff.
- Gonna try some local scrappies today, what is a Sierra 3.62 LSD worth? what has anyone paid recently?
Cheers,
James.

I think I paid about £60 for the complete back end.
Glad you got it in OK
Are you sure you want a 3.62?
But I bet you want an LSD when you've done a few donuts
You probably need to try it first and make sure its not to low?
(As I said (hopefully) theres no rush so don't pay over the odds for one in a hurry)
Regards

Yeah thats the one, already watching it
Have contacts in Milton Keynes.
Had no idea what to offer, probably end up bidding against all the other locost-ers.
