Sierra column and other bits

Anyone got one going spare?

I dont need the switches, or even a key, but do need the wheel and a complete column (non-adjustable preferably).

If someone also has a suitable standard (ie off a non PAS car) downlink, I would also be grateful.

Also need a new mk 2 escort quick rack if anyone has one thats in good condition and can guarantee me the track rods arent bent this time!

Beer tokens await.

dave as you know i bought a escort quick rack from rally design the other day it arrived next day, and its awesome, cant wait to stick it in the dax, but you will need rack extensions as escort rack is shorter than sierra

If I can straighten exhaust valves then you can straighten track rods.
Or sell me the bent one cheap.

Alex, yes I am planning on getting one from rally design, but thought I would try my luck on here first.

Gazza, it was recommended that I shouldnt attempt to straighten the track rods. I can do it though. The rack I have at the moment is just a standard one though. Will probably end up getting a 2.9 ratio one fomr rally design though.

that downlink in marts picture is the one one that goes from the column to the rack. The other type has a universal joint rather than a rubber thing, but both are quite short. Needs lengthening, and sometimes another u/j adding.

Fair enough, I just thought the standard one was longer than that But I know it needs lengthening.

Can the rubber donut be swapped for a proper UJ?

Cheers,
David

The one you want swivels at the triangular section joint, the one in the picture is from an adjustable column and joins to the piece you want. You would need to cut one end from each piece to make your downlink or extend the other piece and join them together. You don't need a quick rack, the car will drive perfectly well with a standard rack till you upgrade, or just straighten the one you have, I did it often enough on Minis and never had any problems. You could get a standard rack and replace the standard parts with your quick rack gearing cheaper than buying another quick rack.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
