WTD: Ford cvh engine
Evening guys,
Following on from my trying to find my engine number thread
linky
I think my engine might have had the numbers removed at some point
I was trying to apply for IVA soon so this is a massive problem!
I think the easiest option (assuming the number doesnt turn up) is to replace the engine like for like (ie keeping all electronics and ancillaries the
same.
So I'm looking for a 1.8 for cvh engine with a known history to buy.
I'm always reading about people swapping these out so there must be some about?
Anyone want to sell (or give freely to a good cause)?
Ta
Chris

Hey Chris,
I have the one I took out of my donor about 18 months ago and has sat in my garage since. The car had done 86,000 (according to the clocks) did leak
some oil on start but cleared up once warm, suspect it just needs the valve seals changing. Basically it is the block and sump complete but I have
taken the manifolds, alternator and dizzy off.
I was going to let the kids strip it down once I had the space but if you want it the offer is there.
One problem is the car is still SORN as I will be using the V5 for my kit, not sure if that will cause issues??
