WTD Fuel Swirl Pot

Rebuild is almost done but am having probs trying to find a cheap swirl pot
Before I dig deeper into my pockets than Mrs Cog would like....'when' she finds out rather than 'if' at the prices I have found them at..

don't supose anyone on here has a redundant one due to having a tank with baffles or gone to carbs or upgraded to a bigger one?

Or is even a dab hand at alloy fab/tig to a fuel proof at low pressure std ?

Had a go at making my own and failed dismally...now getting desperate to get Sweetpea2 back on the roads

Regards
Rob

Go to Milletts, get a "Sigg" fuel bottle. Put two 90 degree push fit elbows into the side of it, a piece of clear plastic pipe, and some outlets. Someone here has done it which is where i got the idea from. I havent made mine yet, but plan to.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Not sure on the push in fitting's sigg bottle idea?
I know what your saying, but I think theres always going to be a slight ammount of pressure in there ...maybe 1 or 2 bar and I would be concerned that it has to be 100% safe as its going to live under the bonnet

I did attempt one out of a piece of propshaft (amazed at how thin walled it was!) I managed to turn a 12mm output and weld it in I decided it would be a good idea to cap top and bottom and pressure test it using water and my compressor to look for leaks before putting the other inlet/outlets in and it leaked like a sieve at fairly low pressure
(my MIG welding skills are not great, but did manage to make my sump oil tight)
However the MIG decided the trigger would go intermittent, which did not help and I ended up making a right pigs ear of trying to get it pressure proof

have looked at air con dryers on tintops and they are ally and about the right size

made enquirys at a local place to tig 1x 12mm tube at bottm and 3x 8mm pipes at various heights, but got quoted more than the ones on eBay :-(

Looked at all sorts of steel vessels wondering if I maybe brazed some pipework in it would be more sucessful

Ref my wierd postcount..

Yup I posted like my keyboard had a case of the squits for a few years, had a minor dissagreement with a fellow on here, he wanted to continue to play - I didn't

so I "flounced" and decided to go play somewhere else for a while

It wasn't a public flounce and was pretty lame as I was just depressed at what the site had become and some views that had been expressed, felt I didn't really fit in, so just wanted to go do something more constructive with my life, so moved on...

I then "de flounced" after realising I missed my mates on here so re joined with Fozzies assistance - once I took a chill pill

As far as I'm aware I haven't been banned/kicked or done owt naughty...just foobarred my own postcount by deleting some of my redundent postings to keep CrisW's server clearer after getting a fresh joined date :-)
