It's going to be tricky add full weather gear to a car with an aeroscreen so it'll mean going for a full screen which then means wipers etc.

The side of that roof is going to hum like crazy at speed. It needs to be a bit tighter IMHO...

Im doing a similar thing. Ive put a screen on, have made some doors and am making a roof that stows away easy.

Iv just put a screen on and keep it covered with rain-x. Im just gonna take it off for mot unless my rainx plan odnt work then il have to fit wipers. But defo no heater.

Do It!! The hood that is. I fitted mine a while ago and use my MK a lot more because of it!

As said its about £1k all in but it does mean that i now use the car for a whole load of journeys, being able to jump in and go without a helmet or goggles etc.

I have done a couple of posts on fitting it and also how i went about modding and fitting the windscreen wipers / washers. i dont have a heater or demisters yet though - will only need them for MOT - dont need them in the real world with hood up or down.

I have also had my car upto at least 100 with the hood up with know issues though mine is tighter than the previous pic in this post.

I will post some links later - the train wifi is ridiculously slow. I have been on the train and managed to look at 6 posts in that time

OK - here a couple of links - hope they are the right ones as the pics are taking sooo long to load so i cant preview the posts!

LINK 1LINK 2

Hope that helps

matt and ant

I had my roof made by a guy in Burwell near Newmarket at a cost of £400 plus VAT , Screen was already fitted , I just added the fittings for the hood , the hood frame I think cost me £25 off ebay . Has made the car a lot more user friendly especially after making and fitting sidescreens

I was working on the assumption that demisters aren't part of the MOT. I've got my first MOt a week on Saturday, so fingers crossed!
