Escort Axle - Actuating rubbers
this_year!! - 24/1/08 at 01:16 PM

Hi all, I did post in the general but didn't see the harm in posting a wanted request also.

I am after 2 of the rubbers that seal the exit of the handbrake actuating lever from the drum backplate. Mine have perished a bit, but I can't find anyone that has any stock of these?
Pic below - any pointers would be great,
Cheers

Sorry that's a little large isn't it, If I work out how to re-size at work I will.

Cheers red Westie, gave it a try but can't find em on there...

I have emailed in the hope that another part fits...

Cheers though it's a good site to keep in mind for small parts.

Thanks again
Rich

According to Capri Spares they are in fact much rarer than hen's teeth. one pair of dirty s/hand ones went for £16+ on ebay last week.
I think I may consider trying to make some.

Can't take the credit, somebody asked about brake adjusters on the boardroom the other day and the site link came from a knowledgable bloke on there (the searchmeister).

The part you are after is a wheel cylinder fitting kit Comes complete with the 2 circlips that hold the cylinder to the back plate Southwest Scimparts list them for a Scimitar which may? be the same part . Also IIRC Triumph Herald/ Spitfire/GT6 used Girling rear wheel cylinders that used the same fitting kit. Plenty of Triumph specialists about that may list them Ritters etc

Just found these:

Who knows? Ordered a set anyway on the off chance.

Edit: Oops, just realised, they are no good for you.
I have Capri drums on my Escort axle for some reason and they look like they will do for me. Sorry.
