Snap off steering boss
RazMan - 24/6/07 at 09:12 PM

I'm fed up with fitting & refitting my steering wheel when I need to access anything in my footwell, so I have decided to find a good quality QD boss. It must have two electrical connections for a horn switch and be suitable for my Sierra column.

Anyone?

Snap-Off

Same as I have on mine - really well engineered and TUV approved.

That's the snap off I once had on my Westfield...

Don't pay £69.99 PLUS POSTAGE because Halfords are presently seeling them for £69

I've been wanting one of those for ages - best get down to Halfords!

Being a bit on the 'big boned' side, I've the same problem. Pedal access was a nightmare.

So I rivnutted the panel in the bay so I could easily remove it and play with the pedals.

Actually, had a hilarious moment when working on my car.... I was upside down in the footwell spending about 20 mins drilling some bolt holes. When I tried to get out my legs were completely numb and I couldn't lever myself out of the car..... Not good!!! In the end I managed to put my arms behind my back, do a kind of reverse push-up then quickly grab the roll bar and pull myself upright..... Then got the worst pins+ needles in the world for about 10 mins!!! Happy days

I want to remove my snap off boss, momo collapsible boss for sierra column and 13" SVC steering wheel to fit a Wilwood Boss and suede steering wheel.

Problem is i cant find a suede wheel (12" prefferred) at a reasonable price. Ideally i need to fit new wheel before selling old one off as i use the car regularly.

The collapsable boss and SVC wheel passed SVA no probs (obviously snap off was fitted later).

Why are you removing it Darren?
