Clear perspex for screen
skydivepaul - 14/12/05 at 11:15 PM

Any one got any clear perspex 6mm, 35" x 8". I need to make a new aeroscreen as I cut my existing one down a bit and didnt do a very neat job!!
Or has anyone got a clear aeroscreen they want rid of? i was going to go for a carbon screen but i would struggle seeing over the top of it without moving my seat up. Dont want to do that as I'll raise the COG in my car when i'm in it

Try one of them places that make windows. I got an off cut for a few quid and it's the perfect size.

Dont use perspex! Lexon polycarb is much better for your application.

Even better still is Lexan polycarbonate

If you can't find any offcuts, Mac#1 do a good one for £27 (I've got one):

Do the Mac1 screens fit the MK indy scuttle? I've seen a few that look like they hang off a bit at the edges

Contact Stuart at Airedale Race Components. They make perspex and polycarb windows for loads of saloon racecars and should have plenty of offcuts, in different colour too.

Not sure about MK. I've got a Stuart Taylor and the bottom edge of the screen follows the curve of the lip most of the way round then turns out horizontally. I think that's how it is designed, so it depends if you like the look or not.

Give them a call and ask.

This pic shows how it fits on my scuttle Rescued attachment screen edge.jpg
